Robot, eh?

I guess I should write something helpful here.  I originally started this bloggy blog to just write random things in, and I called it “I just said hi,” which is a line from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.  I also tried to use quotes from that movie as the subject lines for the posts.  That all got dull real quick, so I looked for a reason to keep posting every day, and then I got the movie-a-day idea (which I’m sure is not new or original, but then, what is?).

So, I watched a movie every day for one year and wrote a review for it.  Mainly because I wanted to force myself to watch more movies.

I tried to make them movies I hadn’t seen before, but that wasn’t always possible, so sometimes I had to raid my DVD collection and watch an old favorite.

There used to be a counter on my site, keeping track of the days in a row watching a movie, but I took it down after reaching 365.  It was nice to not watch a movie the following day…

Moving forward from here, I’ll just be reviewing movies occasionally, whenever I take the time to watch one.  Hopefully I’ll also be writing some movie-related blogs that aren’t just reviews.  Assuming I’m not too lazy.

As for how I came to the current title of the blog, that handsome little robot at the top was a doodle I drew while in a meeting at work.  I have a whole collection of them, but that’s my favorite.  I colorized it and put it up there at the top.  Since that was the image, so it became the title.  It has nothing to do with movie reviews, unless you want to twist it to say I’m the robot following his movie-a-day programming, and the movies I want to see are the ‘pretty things’.  But it’s not nice to go around twisting things, so we’ll just say it’s a meaningless title.

I am a human boy person (yes, a 30-something year old boy), living in Florida, often referred to as Jeremy or ‘Jer’, working during the day, movie-ing it up at night, and doing very little else.

I also like Skittles.

Fin.

i have a lot of spare time in which to do it. plus, i don’t really put too much thought into the reviews anyways. 🙂
